A warm welcome to my blog, Flaming English

Flaming English has been born out of my all-consuming passion for the English language and its grammar. Not only a grammarian but also a satirist, I aim to write about English usage in a jocular manner whenever appropriate. Thus, some of my posts take the form of playful skits, including ‘Rants’ and ‘Frolics’, although I also write more serious pieces. November 2014 was exceptional in that I was blogging every day (most of these articles being humorous), but I have since reverted to a more reasonable frequency.

    • Thank you so much for your kind nomination, Deborah. Although I’m deeply honoured, I must decline the award – albeit with considerable regret. I have just posted a comprehensive reason for my refusal on your blog. In it, I have explained what I won’t be accepting ANY further awards until after I have achieved my goal of writing several more books on English usage and attending to all related publishing and marketing matters. Sincere thanks again.

  4. Here is a grammarian named Anna,
she improves English usage in a light-hearted manner,
    her blog is well written,
    with her ditties I’m smitten
and I keep coming back for more!

(Hello Anna. Apologies for any errors I may have made).

    Best wishes,

    Mark.
