Years ago, we settled down
In this lovely little town,
Which, and that’s beyond dispute,
Is as pretty as it’s cute.
There is something here for all:
Lots of shops, both big and small,
Nice old church and (yes, you’ve guessed)
Pubs for that deserved, hmmm … rest.
What is more, in all those places
We see lots of friendly faces,
So we think – and think we do –
It’s a real dream-come-true.
And our eyes can feast and binge
On the fells that Keswick* fringe –
Sparkling jewels in the crown
Of this lovely little town.

Hello Anna,
I couldn’t agree more – Keswick is magical. The people are friendly and the fudge shop divine!
I’ve been near Cockermouth for just over 3 years and have fallen in love with the county.

Absolutely, Mark – aren’t we lucky; I wouldn’t live anywhere else. I understand your books are doing well – congratulations!
Best wishes for a happy, healthy and successful New Year.

I know, I know; it’s frightening! Hope you have now recovered and are enjoying New York. I’m happy to report that your house is still standing, with the latch slightly opened.
